.................................................................................................................................................
Two innocent shoppers walked out of a pawn store,
All nice and ready to have a girls’ day by the Lake Shore
They had no idea that danger was lurking around the bend
For they did not anticipate they would have to defend.
There, a desperate robber, waiting for his prey;
A bad, bad man, dressed in all black and grey.As soon as they knew it, the robber grabbed the purse and ran away,
The poor girl was distraught – a lovely time turned into such a bad day.
Looking for help, they didn’t know quite what to do,
The helper was inclined, ready to make his heroic debut,
He recited the Law of the Land, as it was written in stone,
The girls then knew this task was not one to be done alone
Together, the team set out on the quest for the one that got away,
As the adventure began, they found an officer, and explained their dismay
As the adventure began, they found an officer, and explained their dismay
The officer took some notes, and promised he would do his best,
But there was no stopping this team from finishing their quest
But there was no stopping this team from finishing their quest
They approached a cathedral, to see what it may hold,
And this is where the story began to unfold ...
And this is where the story began to unfold ...
A few missing items found, led the team to believe
The robber was nearby, with a few tricks up his sleeve
They entered the garden, and found some more of the girl’s things
It was as if three thirsty cranes, pointed the way with their wings
Looking around, the team hoped to spot the robber’s trail
Determined, they kept on searching, but to no avail
The evening grew dark, and the skies became grey
The discouraged team decided to try another day…
................................................................................................................................................................
The very next day, the helper went out and about
He went to back to the park, and began to scout
Low and behold, Sarah had found the purse
The helper reclaimed it, and quickly dispersed
“Where can I find her?” He thought aloud.
So he started his journey through the crowd
He walked down the path and set on his way
He knew he must return the purse to its owner that day
On a bench he spotted her, looking down at the ground
He knew once she saw him, her hope would be found
The helper tapped her on the arm, ever so politely
She hugged her found bag, and smiled so brightly
The girl met her friend and shared the happy news,
They thanked the helper for being such a good use.
The girls went on their way, down the long street,
Oblivious to whom they were about to meet.
Suddenly a collision ensued, to both party’s surprise;
The girls had found the robber, a look of panic in his eyes.
The robber began to flee once again, the girls in tow
He kept running, and across the street he would go
The girls tried to keep up, but were not that fast,
The robber kept running; he knew he could outlast.
One girl tripped and fell, and landed hard on the ground,
By this time, the robber was already homeward bound
The other girl stopped, to help her injured friend
And together they hobbled onward, towards the bitter end
They sat down, back in the garden to rest the girl’s hurt knee,
They felt defeated, as if they missed their big chance,
But then they decided to take an alternative glance…
The glass was half full; the purse had been found,
They thought about karma, its effects are profound
Suddenly, they felt a certain kind of inner peace,
And the anger of the situation began to decrease.
They knew that someday robber would pay for his crime,
Sometime in the future he would face the anger of time.
So instead of being mad, the girls sat together in the sun,
They found comfort in knowing that karma can’t ever be outrun.
